Tunes in a Vineyard

The WA Gypsy Jazz Festival featuring Hank Marvin Gypsy Jazz, held on March 2 and 3, 2019, was a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and community set against the picturesque backdrop of Drakesbrook Winery. Each day of the festival began with a charming walk through the extensive Gypsy Jazz village, a sprawling area surrounding the beautiful Winery Lake. The village was a hive of activity, with pop-up markets, market stalls offering a variety of goods, trinkets, and merchandise, as well as food tents, trailers, and vans serving up delicious fare. VIP tents and marquee beer and wine bars catered to those seeking a more exclusive experience, while musician gazebos provided a platform for impromptu performances, adding to the lively atmosphere.

Throughout the day, the Gypsy Jazz village came alive with the sounds of jazz music, with surprise performances by talented musicians, and Swing Dancers adding a touch of flair to the festivities. The Winery Lake Deck served as a focal point for these musical interludes, drawing visitors in with its scenic views and delightful sounds.

As evening descended, the village transformed into a magical setting for the main event – the evening Gypsy Jazz concert by the lake. Guests were invited to enjoy a picnic-style experience, indulging in delicious foods paired with great wines or beer, all while soaking in the enchanting ambiance created by lanterns and lake lights. As the sun dipped behind the hills, casting a warm glow over the Winery, the music filled the air, creating a truly unforgettable experience for all in attendance.

The WA Gypsy Jazz Festival with Hank Marvin Gypsy Jazz was more than just a music festival; it was a celebration of community, culture, and creativity. It brought together people from all walks of life to share in the joy of music and to create lasting memories in a stunning setting.

A VERY interesting event

“This event is different, it’s an outdoor concert in a Western Australian Vineyard.”
